Updates from 2017 and later are done weekly on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/hopewithoutborders/
December: Two teams are getting ready to head out to Tanzania and India soon. We are busy packing donations and getting the team ready. Follow us on our TRAVEL BLOGS
November: Thank you everyone for raising over $7000 at out annual FUNdraiser.
September-October: We have raised $1451 for The Red Elephant Project through the Revlon "Love is On" campaign. That is 145 more girls we can keep in school!!
August: Thank you to all donated for the medical needs of Francis in Kenya. He is doing well. He has a feeding tube in place (he has oral cancer) and will hopefully start chemotherapy soon. He sees the doctor on August 14th. When we met Francis while doing a home visit in Kenya, we found out he had lost a lot of weight. After examining him, he was found to have HIV and oral cancer. He couldn't afford to take the bus to the hospital let alone pay for his medical care. So, we started to raise funds for his medical care ~$850. We were able to raise $450, so if you are interested in donating, click on the "Donate" tab above. He deserves a chance.
Summer 2016: Wow!! What a busy summer. We sent 2 teams to Kenya and a very large team to Nicaragua. Now it's time to get ready for the November 5th FUNdraiser.
March: Volunteers came and sorted and tagged over 2000 books. We have reached out to a few Milwaukee Schools that are in need of books, so we are excited that we can supply books to kids in need.
February 2016: We have received about 1800 books from local libraries. They were all on their way to the dump! So, we need help on Saturday, February 27th as we will be sorting and packing these books. If you are interested in helping that day, please email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Meanwhile we are busy making plans for the 2 volunteer trips to Kenya in May and a trip to Nicaragua in June. We have a total of 74 volunteers signed up for these trips.
January 2016: A team just returned from Tanzania. We were able to see hundreds of patients and fit an additional hundreds of people with eyeglasses. On top of that we were able to distribute over 100 Red Elephant packs in Kenya and Tanzania. Be sure and visit our travel blog to read more about our trip.
